Signed on the front endpaper, below a personal gift inscription, by the author, dated April 1947. I have just the very chipped front and rear panels of the dust jacket, now preserved in a Brodart sleeve. The ribbed orange cloth boards are rubbed at the edges and corners, where the undersurface is showing through, spine shows wear its whole length, text remains strong.
